Thank you for rescuing this photo from an antique store and sharing here. It might take a few years, but I'm certain a relative will one day find this photo of Geneva and thank you many times over.

P.S. I tagged this photo with "Lost & Found" which is where we group what we call 'orphan' photos that have lost their families :)

I love folk art, antique portraits, photos, mystery, poetry, and art. I've been a picker since my teens so I love all things old and interesting. Gen Xer born a month after Elvis died.
I live on a farm. That's all you're getting. Many years ago I had a dream about a group of my relatives I had never met. During Covid, I was thinking about them and my aunt called and this church had contacted her and given her an old, carved podium one of those ancestors (he was a carpenter) had made. She gave it to us (my dad, our side) as she knew we would want it. As soon as I saw it and the attached plaque tears streamed down my face! The podium holds significance in other ways too. One day I'll write it all down.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. For information on the folks who build and support the community see Daniel - Founder & Creator.
My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.

Kidd of East Bernstadt, KY. Grandson to Jasper Gray of Flat Lick, KY and Annie Maude (Lawson) Gray of Gary, Ind. Great Grandson to Milinder Gray and Sarah Gray of Flat Lick, KY. Sixth Great Grandson to Jordan Gray who served at Valley Forge. **Information on my Kidd branch of the family tree on Find A Grave by M. E. Payne and Ronnie McFadden (aka blue jay) is mostly incorrect. M.E. Payne claims falsely to be a "close" first cousin to my grandfather Kidd yet can not tell you anything personal about him although she lived next door to him and never attended any family reunions or events. Ronnie McFadden's third great grandfather is a sibling of my third great grandfather George Kidd. She has never met or spoken to any of my direct family and assumes incorrectly about this branch of family history. The info I have noted on my site has been passed down by word of mouth by my father - his siblings, grandfather - his siblings as well as my great grandmother Sarah and from our family bible (written in it) that I am in possession of. Anything that I am not 100% sure of, I note as such. I can be contacted at [contact link] for any needed info.
