N. J. Henningson
I've "rescued" an old photograph of N. J. HENNINGSON which was taken at the Keithly Studio in Faulkton, SD when the young man was 16 years old. The photograph has the name of Mrs. H. J. HENNINGSON of Puyallup, WA written on the back of the photograph as if this might be who it was gifted to originally. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this young man and his family:

Niels Jenson HENNINGSON or HENNINGSEN was b. about 1874 in South Dakota to parents Hans J. HENNINGSON or HENNINGSEN (1845-1941) and Karen “Carrie” HANSON or HANSEN (1848-1930). Niels was one of 6 children born to this couple including, Henry “Henning”; Niels Jenson; Mary Gertrude; Anna Margarite; Sophia; and Fredrick S. HENNINGSEN, all born between 1871 and 1888. Niels had two spouses, Elizabeth OLESON (1879-1926) and Averil M. HUGH ELLIS (b. 1883). He died in Yakima, WA on 30 Jun 1950 and is buried in the Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.

Census records provide the following details:

1900 census of Spokane, WA: - living in a Railroad Camp

Niels HENNINGSEN, age 26, born Aug 1873, born SD, parents born Denmark, a Railroad Laborer

I am hoping to locate someone from his family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
