Sue Shelton White circa 1920
Sue Shelton White was a suffragist who was born in Tennessee in 1887. She worked for the Democratic Senator K. D. McKellar for a number of years. Then she got her law degree and worked hard for women's rights.
Sue White was also a close friend of President and Mrs. Franklin D Roosevelt. She died in May 1943 of cancer and is buried in the state of Virginia.
