The Red Barn Tire truck

When Raymond Van Tassell moved his family back to California, he opened a tire recapping shop in a former blacksmith's barn in Danville and named it 'The Red Barn.' My mother delivered tires in this truck while she was pregnant with me. I remember changing into my swimsuit in the panel truck at the pool where I learned to swim. People still rode horses into town and some sidewalks were still wooden in the fifties.
