The Rev.Francis Haywood Parker
Francis Haywood Parker was born March 04,1837 in Rowan County, North Carolina,near Lumberton.
The son of Ralph Regan Parker and Sarah C. Hodge Parker.
Francis Parker came to Houston County, Texas in the late 1850's and encouraged his father and large family to follow him.The Parker family and others in the community built a Methodist church know as "Woodland Hall". Rev. Parker was called an "Exorter" in the church and he is recorded as a lay preacher present at the first Quarterly Conference at the Elkhart Church, Anderson County, Texas. He married Zilpha Ann Overstreet May 25 1866 in Houston County, Texas. Rev. Francis Parker died Jan 09 1913 in Houston County, Texas and is buried in Parker Cemetery, Grapeland, Houston County, Texas
