Obituary for Mr. William Anthony "Tony" Holbrook
William Anthony Holbrook, age 53 transitioned to Heaven unexpectedly Friday night, November 13, at Emory Johns Creek of a heart attack with his wife, Valerie and his mother Carolyn Holbrook Scott by his side. He was affectionately known to many as Will, William, Willie or Tony. Will was born August 19, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia, and lived in the Atlanta area for much of his life. He also resided in Raleigh, North Carolina and Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he made some very special friends. He has been back in Georgia for the past 3 1/2 years and able to spend precious time with his mom Carolyn and reconnect with his Georgia family again. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; mother, Carolyn Holbrook Scott and his sister in law, Lisa all of Roswell; his daughter Ashley Holbrook of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brad Cummings and grandson Easton Cummings. He was also blessed with a great family including Uncle William Spence (Nita), Uncle Howell Barnette, Aunt Syble McGinnis, Uncle Larry Holbrook, Great Aunt Mildred (Midge) Williams, and many cousins and family and friends with whom he shared many special memories. He was preceeded in death by a number of beloved family members including his grandparents Bill and Mable Spence, Aunt Jane Barnette, Grandpa and Grandma Holbrook, and Uncles J.L. Holbrook, John Holbrook, Herbert Holbrook, Aunts Annie Thompson and Bonnie Webb. A favorite childhood memory his mother shares is of a time Will was about 4 years old playing with a cap gun, which went off unexpectantly. Will ran to his mom saying "mama, mama, am I dead?.” Will graduated from Milton high school in 1980. He worked as a deputy sheriff with Forsyth County before going to work for the Alpharetta Police Department as an officer and detective. In 1987, on November 4, he had a major car accident which changed his life forever. He almost lost his life at that time but he has always been a fighter. When he lost some of his vision as a result and was no longer able to work in law enforcement, he went back to school at the University of Georgia and earned his Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehab counseling, became a certified rehab counselor as well as a licensed professional counselor. He worked in this field for a number of years in Atlanta, Raleigh, N.C. and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He then started his own business and was president of Adonai Employment, until he felt the calling of the Lord to go into ministry. He then went to the Kings University in Van Nuys, Ca, where he earned his Masters of Divinity with a focus on Messianic Judaism. He received the student Service Award and was very honored to have met Jack Hayford, Jonathan Bernis, Michael Brown and Robert Morris during his studies. After earning this degree Will served the Lord through a prayer and counseling ministry over telephone and social media that touched many lives. There are many who will miss his phone calls and facebook messages of encouragement. His great passion was for prayer and healing. He was a mighty prayer warrior. He trained at the Bill Johnson School of Supernatural Healing under the direction of Mollianne Elliott and Karen McAdams. His favorite music was praise and worship, Paul Wilbur, messianic music, and he truly enjoyed playing the congas with the Restoration Church worship band. He was so thankful to have been given the opportunity to worship with such a great team. He loved Andy Griffith, including Ernest T. Bass and The Darlings. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs. His southern charm and magnificent sense of humor touched people wherever he went. He will be greatly missed. His family would like to thank Emory at John's Creek for the great care he was given over his multiple visits there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Restoration Church of God Music Ministry or Jewish Voice Ministries. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00pm at Restoration Church of God. The Holbrook family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Restoration Church of God.

Debby Stevens
I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
