This is a photo of my great-grandmother - Bessie Louise (Raines) Weiesnbach. She was born in Iowa to Charles Henry Raines and Ida Lena Steinmetz. She married William Leory Weiesnbach in Iowa, in 1906. The family traveled to Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma; where William died in Tulsa during 1938. Bessie married three more times. Her last marriage was to Charles Nichols. They made their home in Joplin, Missouri until his death. Bessie's children then moved her to Tulsa, Oklahoma to be near them. In March 1981 Bessie died at the age of 94 years old in Tulsa.

This is my grandmother, sitting on the porch of a house that I think may have been at 385 South Main St. in Memphis, TN, after 1900. This is based on a postcard sent to her at that address in 1901.

William was a close cousin who was killed in Dec. 1950 in North Korea after returning to duty before recovering from his wounds for which he received the Purple Heart. He also received the Silver Star.
