He was in a relationship with Charlene SoRelle Miller beginning September 9, 1945 in Mont Belvieu, Chambers County, Texas, and had children Fred L. Miller Jr and Gary L. Miller. Fred Miller died at age 75 years old on November 17, 1996 in Kerrville, Kerr County, and was buried at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery
