    Prairie Creek, Vigo County, Indiana until 1900 when the family went south looking for a warmer climate. They passed through Leach/Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee and although they might have traveled on further south, they liked the area in Tennessee and settled there. At times, Alvin Rosel as well as some of his sisters, would go to work at a Dr Harding's hospital in Columbus, Ohio for a while and then return to Tennessee. Near the end of WWII, Alvin Rosel traveled to the Yakima Valley in Washington State as did others in the community to pick fruit. They could make more money doing this than farming their worn out places back in Tennessee. This was before modern farming methods and fertilizer other than spreading manure. Over the next ten years or so, Alvin Rosel and different ones in the family went back and forth to Washington to work along.
