IT WAS TAKEN IN 1935 BY A PHOTOGRAPHER NAMED CONSUELA KANAGA WHO TOOK PICS OF AFRICAN AMERICANS BACK THEN.

Annie Mae Meriweather was a union maid from lowndes county alabama. She was married to Jim Press Meriweather. He was shot and killed by the mob down in rural lowndes county alabama around ft deposit. He refuse to work for .65 for pulling cotton while other sharecroppers were getting 1.00 for their bundles. He is my granny georgia meriweather gray brother.
