Avadelle (who actually spelled her own name Avadel) was my grandfather's sister. The S stands for Smith--her maiden name. She was married to Don Ross, an Attorney who was employed for many years by the Oklahoma State Supreme Court. Together they were two of the kindest, most loving, giving people I've ever known. I stumbled on this because I did an internet search for Avadelle on a whim--my oldest daughter is currently expecting a baby girl, and as my children grew up loving this sweet aunt as much as I did, my granddaughter's name will be Avadelle (Ava). Memories of Avadel Smith Ross are among my most cherished family memories.
