    Christopher Naldo Ricketts' parents are Max Ricketts, an American businessman and a 1963 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Edith Naldo, a Bicolana (he fourth-largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group) from Iriga City and they are now based in San Diego, California where they manage their real estate business, according to "My movie picker", a website. Christopher, also known as "Topher", was born and raised in the Philippines. He was a Filipino martial arts instructor as well as an actor and author. He was the eldest brother of Filipino action star Ronnie Ricketts and acted in Ronnie's films. Ronnie Ricketts is an actor, scriptwriter, film director, line producer and martial artist who is the former President of the Philippine Film Actors Guild and the former Chairman of Optical Media Board, which regulates media in the Philippines. Topher married Maria Elizabeth Mercado and they had three sons: Bruce, Brandon, and Christopher. The family moved to San Diego California in 2005. Christopher and Rey Galang were founders of, and major contributors to, The Bakbakan organization, a boxing television program that ran from 2008 to 2009. Topher also collaborated on a book about his teacher Antonio "Tatang" Ilustrisimo, who was the Grandmaster of Kalis Ilustrisimo (KI), a Filipino martial art bearing his family name. .
