Dorence Atwater
Dorence Atwater was a prisoner of war at Andersonville in the Civil War. 1845-1910. Born in Connecticut and died in San Francisco, CA. Parents were Henry Atwater and Catherine Fenn Atwater. He and Miss Clara Barton brought a collection of relics from the prison to be photographed for the Great National Fair in Washington, D.C.in June 1866. The photograph can be found in the Library of Congress photo collection.
