She boarded Lusitania as 2nd class with her mother Lydia to visit an ill relative in England on May 1, 1915. 6 days later the ship was struck by a torpedo from a German submarine off the coast of Ireland and sank due to a second explosion at 2:10 pm. Both Eva and her mother perished in the sinking. Only Eva's body was recovered.

Eva boarded Lusitania as 2nd class with her mother Lydia. Eva was only 3 years old. and her mother did not survive the sinking. There was no knowing of how they spent their seven lifetime days in the voyage of the Lusitania. Lydia's body was lost at sea, but Eva's body had been recovered and buried in a common grave where the buried children who were recovered from the cold Atlantic waters.
