EVERETT LEWIS BLANKENBEKER, 99, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004. He was born Oct. 2, 1904, in Buffalo, Kan., to Alvin and Emma Pavey Blankenbeker. Everett was a graduate of the class of 1927 from Kansas State University. He worked as an electrical engineer in the Pittsburg area and lived the last 10 years at Parkstone Place and really enjoyed it there. He is survived by his son, Richard C. Blankenbeker; daughter, Janet Mickey; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Blankenbeker in 1979. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 West 12 St., Little Rock, Ark., 72204. A Memorial Service will be held in August. Arrangements by Cremation Association of Arkansas, 1921 Main St., 753-3200, online obituary and guest register at www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.

Born in October of 1904, cute little Everett Lewis Blankenbeker made it to within a few months of his 100th birthday! That's especially impressive given that when he was born, the average life expectancy was 47 years.

WOW - What a fantastic century for him to live thru! Probably the greatest and most rapid change in all of human history, as well as many cataclysmic events! From horse and buggy well into the space and Internet age. An absolutely amazing period and he saw it all!
