My mother came to this country between 1965-1966. Her birth name was Adelina Theresa Carcheri McGregor. She was a true Cancer sign. Strong in temperment and work. She was gypsy-like, always searching for something better. She was nicknamed after a spanish actres named Lola Flores and looked like Elizabeth Taylor with brown eyes though, when she was 15 yrs old in National Velvet. Beautiful skin and very dramatic eyebrows. I've inherited the eyebrows. She has 2 brothers, Roberto and Juan Carlos, and 3 sisters, Gloria, Lastenia and Bertha. She has 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Bianca. She married Carlos Apuy when I was very young then later they separated. It was said my father was the love of her life. Perhaps he was; she never tried to get married again. Her strength and intelligence are instilled in her remaining family members, especially her nieces, Bertha, Yessenia and Milagros; who had her close as they were growing up also - in New Jersey, not Florida, that was years later.
