    James Lasley and Dicea were my Great Great Grandparents. Their daughter Elnora Lasley Waltrip was my great grandmother. She died in Santa Cruz, California. She married James Abraham Waltrip. Their son, William Floyd Waltrip, my grandfather, married Schrildia Rose Keith in 1917 in Santa Cruz and their last child, Faith Delores Waltrip was my mother.

    James and his wife "Dica" Stogsdill were very patriotic. They were married on July 4th, 1842. Two sons fought on the Union side in the Civil War. Both received severe injuries. Both died some 20 months later within 2 months of each other. Dica was deemed to have nursed them to prolong their lives.
