John C. Possehl

John C. Possehl, 84, of 210 Buffalo St., died Monday, July 23, 2012, in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., he was born Oct. 21, 1927, the son of Norman Possehl and Betty Clayton Possehl Putnam.
He was a graduate of Hutch-Tech High School, Buffalo.
His service in the military included the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 and the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1951.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Buffalo General Hospital as a stationary engineer.
He was a member of the American Legion and International Union of Operating Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie Crespy, whom he married Sept. 14, 1974; four children: Elizabeth Purcell of Sacramento, Calif., David Possehl and Diana Possehl, both of Fredonia, and Susan Possehl of Newark, N.Y.; and his kitty, Phantom.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A brief memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate.
Friends will be received for one our prior to the service in the funeral home.
