Joyce Wilson died at age 87 years old on May 26, 2015 at Community Hospital in Battle Creek.

Joyce Elaine Wilson, 87, of Battle Creek, born Sunday, January 1, 1928, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. She was the daughter of Maureen (Fisher) and Lyle Iden. Joyce was raised by her grandparents, Hazel and Franklin Fisher and was a graduate of the Emmanuel Missionary College Accelerated Teaching Certification program near the end of WWII, and later from Kellogg Community College. Joyce taught in a one-room school house in Cadillac, Michigan. After starting her family, she worked at Sullivan Milk Products; was a real estate agent for DeLano Realty; operated her own day care; and retired from the VA Medical Center. Joyce is survived by her husband of 70 years, Deryck "Lee" Wilson; daughters: Cheryl (David) Cunningham and Wendy (Eric) Miller; son: Brian Wilson (class of 1987 and 1989); grandchildren: Brandon (Mary) and Adam Miller; Jennifer (David) Cunningham Benninghoff; Craig (Amber) Cunningham; and Deryck (Sarah Heuser) Cunningham; and great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Colton, and Morgan Benninghoff; Madison, Chandler, Reid, and Sophia Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brother, and her eldest son Deryck "Derry" Lee Wilson, Jr.
