Leonard Dlugosz of Buffalo, Erie County, NY was born on December 19, 1915 in Batavia, Genesee County to Anna (Cecot) Dlugosz. He married Jewell A (Lance) Dlugose in 1944 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County and they later divorced. He had a child David Edward Dlugose. Leonard Dlugosz died at age 66 years old on June 30, 1982 in Buffalo, Erie County.

Leo loved to do oil painting, but his occupation was a technical drafter. His career came to an early end when he had to be hospitalized for schizophrenia for many years. Later in life he lived independently in Buffalo New York but often had set backs when not on medication. There were no medications available at the time that could reliably stabilize a person. His wife Jewell visited him, and later remarried.
