Friend of my Mother
Lloyd owned an auto salvage yard just North of Junction City on Hwy 99. He and his wife, Edna, also owned a small airplane. I remember riding in it once. In the spring of 1977 he sold me a 1947 Ford sedan for $100 when I was a junior in HS. I loved that car, and drove it daily to Harold Umpleby’s farm near Harrisburg the next summer. I remember Mother telling me that it had hydraulic brakes as an important selling point. Lloyd and Edna are vague, but pleasant memories from my childhood in Oregon.
