Birth: May 18, 1924 Death: Feb. 27, 2011 Lois H. Hiegel Lois H. Hiegel, age 86, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011, at UPMC Hamot. Residence, Erie. She was born in Erie on May 18, 1924, daughter of the late George L. and Julia Lidell Pletz, Sr. Lois was a member of St. James R.C. Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading mystery novels. The widow of Robert John Hiegel, Sr., in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Fox and Kathryn Danowski; two brothers, George Pletz, Jr. and Robert Pletz; and her daughter-in-law, Vivian Hiegel. Lois is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Anderson (Robert) of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Robert J. Hiegel, Jr. and George Lewis Hiegel both of Erie; one brother, Richard Pletz of Erie; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church at 1 p.m. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Published in the Erie Times-News on March 1, 2011. Burial: Calvary Cemetery Erie Erie County Pennsylvania, USA
