Luke Putgenter died at age 64 years old on September 17, 1997 in Baltimore, and was buried Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park 7250 Washington Blvd, in Elkridge, Howard County.

Airy, Howard County, Maryland. His father Joseph was born on February 2, 1888 in Ilchester, Howard County, Maryland and grew up there. After marrying Loretta in 1915, the couple lived in Baltimore, Maryland and he worked on a farm later working as a chauffeur for a private family. He passed away on March 2, 1978 in Catonsville, Maryland.
