Mrs. Meryl M.S. Duval

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO -Committal Services were held, Monday, May 6, 2013 in Burlington, Ontario for Meryl M.S. (Baird) Duval, who passed away at her home in Kitimat, British Columbia on February 3, 2013.
Meryl was born and raised in Corby, England, the daughter of William and Margaret (Toye) Baird. She was a talented artist, who attended college, earning a degree in Art. In 1958, Meryl met Douglas J. Duval (USAF - VT). They married in 1959. In 1960, Douglas, Meryl and son Douglas returned to Vermont. Sons Stewart and David were born in 1962 and 1964. Meryl earned her teaching certificate, and was an educator in the Windham county school district, teaching in schools in Putney, Wesminister and Bellows Falls. In 1973, Meryl relocated to the Burlington, Ontario area, then to British Columbia in 1997.
She is remembered as a supportive friend, caring sister, loving mother and devotee of animals.
Mrs. Duval is survived by her sons, Douglas S. Duval and daughter-in law Margaret (Wareing), Stewart J. Duval and David L. Duval. Grandchildren, Christina Barton and Matthew Duval. Great grandchildren Jenna and Jeremy Barton, Logan Bouvier and Isabelle Duval. Her brothers, David Baird and John Baird.
