Cimo is one of my wife's uncles. He was born in District of Columbia and so far I have conflicting dates for his birth 1913 and 1914. His father was employed by a small circus company called Sibley Suburban Shows. He was known by several names on different records. The spelling here is from the SSDI and is the same on his WWII Enlistment record. He's also known as Maximo Carlos Delgado, which I think is right because his father's name was Carlos Delgado Congo. his father stated in his draft record taken in 1918 that he was born in Puerto Rico and his father was Puerto Rican and his mother was Filipino. In census records, Maximo began using the surname Congo as did his mother and all his siblings. I believe the Spanish tradition of including the mother's maiden name after your father's surname may account for the two surnames. He died in Baltimore MD in 1974. His brother's were John Winslow Congo, James Henry Congo, Albert George Congo (Diggs - named changed by adoption), Lorenzo Congo, and a sister Maria Congo (AKA Mary Elora Taylor).
