    Myrtle Merideth Olsen Sorensen, age 87, passed away due to natural causes Jan. 10, 2001 at the Stewart's Care Center in Roosevelt, UT. She was born April 2, 1913 in Hayden, UT to John Albert and Clara Malinda Johnson Olsen. She married Boyd James Sorensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple April 15, 1931. They owned and operated the Scipio Mercantile for 45 years. She was an active member of the LDS Church. After retiring from the store, she served a mission in Oakland, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Gerald R., and three brothers; Birnell, Clifford, and Glen Olsen. She is survived by her children; Dorthy Jean Smith, West Valley, Leila June (Dean) Seely, St. Anthony, ID, Jay Peter (Peggy), Garth Leroy (DeAnne) of Roosevelt, UT, Duane L. (Judy), Kearns, UT, B. Udell (Peggy) Scipio, UT; 32 grandchildren, 77 great- grandchildren, and 18 great great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Richard (Rose), Neola, UT, Lerwill J, West Jordan, Evan (Alice) Olsen, Neola, UT, Zola Spencer, Vernal, UT, Geneva Whiting, Clinton, UT, Clara Timothy, Orem, UT, Iona "Toni" (Roy) Gardner, Neola, UT, Luella (Ormon) Sullivan, Roosevelt, UT. A viewing was held Sat, Jan. 13 2001 at the Hullinger Mortuary in Roosevelt, UT. Services will be held Mon. Jan. 15, 2001 at the Scipio LDS Chapel. Friends may call prior to services from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will be at the Scipio Cemetery.
