Oscar Agy was born on April 8, 1923 in Kentucky. He was enlisted in the US Army as a young man and involved in The Korean War, receiving medals of valor and The Purple Heart. He married twice in his life and had a total of 3 children. He died in December, 12 1981 at 58 years old, quite unexpectedly, due to lung failure from acquiring "black lung" from working at Bethlehem Steel. He was married to Georgia Agy (Frances) and a loving step father to her children Donald Eugene (Butch), Janice, Stephen, and Susan Honeycutt. They called him Dad. He had one son with Georgia on Nov. 5th 1971 who was named William Shawn Agy. He was named William after his father, Oscar's middle name, and given the name Shawn by his father, stating, "he will be called Shawn." Oscar Agy had been residing in Middle River, Baltimore County, Maryland 21220 and worked at Bethlehem Steel until he was no longer able. He loved music, dancing, being surrounded by family, and especially taking care of Shawn until his death in 1981. He is fondly remembered by all and very much missed by everyone, especially his family. He is now buried next to his wife, Georgia, as of Dec. 12, 2012 and finally reunited. As of 2021, he is survived by his son Shawn Agy and still greatly missed by him and his last remaining step sister, Susan.
