Sheryl Lynn Blomlie's History: 1944 - 2008

  • Introduction

Miss Blomlie was our computer teacher in the "Apple lab" at Larchmont Elementary School in Tacoma,Wa. This was in the early-mid 1990's. I remember her supervising and instructing us on how to use the ancient Apple II e computers (the ones with the green & black screens). We weren't always on our best behavior and those computers were outdated even then, (there was also an "IBM lab" with newer computers & a different instructor) but Ms Blomlie did the best with what she had and was patient with us even though we probably stressed her out at times.. she was a nice lady. I have fond memories and learned a lot from those educational programs such as "Number Munchers", "Addition Logician", etc. I know she was a heavy smoker at that time and I'm not sure whether or not that contributed to her death.. she died fairly young (early 60's) which is a shame. My condolances and best wishes to her family, Ms Blomlie and the Apple Lab had a positive impact on my early life. Rest In Peace.
