Sigvard boarded Titanic as 3rd class from Southampton England to emigrate to Canada with his parents and sisters Sigrid (11) Ingeborg (9) Ebba Iris (6) Ellis Anna (2). The ship struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 14, 1912 at 11:45 pm and sank by splitting in two at 2:20 am. Most lifeboats refused to come back to save more people because they didn't want to get swamped & the family did not understand English and the drill of going to the decks.

Sigvard was the only son and brother in the family. The family owned a farm in Kisa, Sweden. The family was one of the Scandavian passengers on board Titanic and that perished in the sinking.
