    Twila Stevens was born June 9, 1927 in Great Bend, KS to Frank and Nola (Dixon) Stoss, and entered into rest on December 9, 2014 at the Green House at Mirasol in Loveland, CO at the age of 87. Twila married Earl Stevens on December 19, 1952 in Chapel Hill, NC. She attended Wichita State and the University of North Carolina where she was working towards her Master’s Degree. Education was a great source of pride in her family. She worked at Cumberland High School for over ten years in pupil management. She and her family resided in Cumberland, RI for twenty-four years before moving to Loveland, CO in 1995. Twila was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loveland and was active with many volunteering services including the Loveland Invitational Sculpture Show, the Visitors Center and was President of the Friends of the Museum which later became the Loveland Historic Society. She enjoyed traveling, reading, hiking and art, but she gained her greatest joy and pleasure in life from vacationing or spending time with her husband, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Twila was the epitome of an angel on earth because she brought love, joy and happiness into the daily lives of her family and friends. Twila is survived by her loving husband, Earl and their three sons; Eric (Liz) Stevens, of Fort Collins, CO, Craig (Marguerite) Stevens, of Annapolis, MD, and Scott (Michelle) Stevens, of Bloomington, MN, her brother, Frank (Doris) Stoss Jr, of Wichita, KS, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3333 North Duffield Ave., Loveland, CO 80538. A private family inurnment will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Loveland Historical Society. Family and friends may view the online obituary and sign the guestbook at www.resthavencolorado.com.
