    Katie Muth was traveling on the General Slocum with her family for a church picnic. The General Slocum caught on fire and sank. Katie perished along with her mother and two older sisters. The father and youngest brother survived. Their bodies were buried in Lutheran All Faith's cemetery in Queens New York.
