Velma is the daughter of Samuel Lee and Nora Edna Doyle. Grand-daughter of Samuel Lafayette and Martha Francis Hughes-Doyle. Great grand-daughter of Samuel Lafayette and Anna Ezell-Doyle. Great great grand-daughter of Farmer and Mary “Polly” Newberry-Doyle.
Paul Alan died in 1962 at the age of 16 from complications of polio. Velma died in 1971 from colon cancer and Gordon died in the 1980's. Gordon was from Minnesota. Velma and Gordon lived in Kansas City, Missouri the better part of their marriage.
