    Wayne Robert “Bud” Fuller, 84, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Lillian Carter Nursing Center in Plains. He was a former resident of Columbus and Albany,. The memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors. The Rev. Butch Knight will officiate. A private interment will be held in Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus at a later date. Mr. Fuller was born May 8, 1923 in Stanton, Michigan, the son of Robert Edward Fuller and Jennie Hadley Fuller. He was a retired Army Major serving in WWII and the Korean War. During his tenure as an officer, he was awarded the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts. Upon retiring from the Army, he was employed as a system’s analyst with the Fort Benning Infantry School. Mr. Fuller became active in his community serving as President of the Retired Officers Association and President of the Albany Golden Kiwanis. He also volunteered with the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and attended First Baptist Church. Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Wood Fuller. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Samson English Fuller; his brother, Glen Fuller of Las Vegas; son, Wayne Robert Fuller and his wife Brenda Neely Fuller of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Nancy Fuller of Columbus; son, Mark Fuller and his wife Kim Carter Fuller of Plains; stepson, Roy English and his wife Cathy of Toccoa; stepdaughter, Jan Duke and her husband Greg of Leesburg; grandchildren, Stephanie Fuller Richard and her husband Anthony of Baton Rouge, Shannon Fuller of Baton Rouge, Mandy Fuller and Wayne Robert Fuller, III “Bud” of Plains; great-grandchildren, Brooke Richard and Ava Richard; step-grandchildren, Jennifer English Zigan and her husband Bill, Barbara English Harris, Meghan Duke, Dylan Duke, Adair Duke, Colby Duke, and Landon Duke; step-great-grandchildren, Camryn Zigan, Tyler Zigan, Franklin Harris “B.G.” and Jonah Harris. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern following the service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Vista Care Hospice, 100 Brookstone Center Parkway, Columbus, GA 31904-2990.
