Capt. John Wesley Caldwell outside his silver mine c. 1847
John Wesley Caldwell served in the 2nd Ohio. He was the son of Samuel Caldwell, born 20 May 1812 in Guilford, NC, died 13 May 1853 in Clay, Auglaise County, Ohio. He married Judith Rawson Copeland in Allen County, Ohio. Their daughter Eleanor Christina Caldwell married my great grandfather, William Henry Arnold in Clinton County, Ohio.
