Here we are in front of Space Mountain the year it opened in 1976. The lineups were about an hour long, but worth every minute, as the ride completely blew my head off. It was short, but packed with the most incredible special effects I'd ever seen. And then 'Star Wars' opened later that summer; all in all a good time to be a nerdy sci-fi fan.
