Donna Mae Leamer Leone
Donna Mae Leamer was born on January 1, 1936 in Pennsylvania to parents Donald Francis Leamer (1903-1978) and Sarah Ethel Brown (1906-1971). She had a sister, Lois Jean Leamer (1927-2020) and they grew up in Burnside, Clearfield, Pennsylvania, USA. On October 28, 1961 she married Edwin Francis Leone (1931–2009) in Heilwood, Pennsylvania, USA. Together they had two children together; Dawn and Edwin Leone. Mom was a devout Christian, wonderful wife and a mother who would gladly and selflessly do anything for her children. She and Dad always said they would never go anywhere that us children couldn't come along - very God and family oriented. Mom was a meticulous record keeper - the old-school, do everything in triplicate kind of record keeper. She had a beautiful voice - an accomplished, soprano singing voice and a lovely, alto speaking voice. I always loved hearing her answer the phone - very professional. I can still see her take dad's hand as he was driving us to our next NASCAR track to work at, saying how happy she was that we could all be doing this together. It was my honor to take care of them in the final years of their lives. I only wish that in my youth, I would have realized how precious being close to them was, never going away to college and living away from them for 11 years. -Dawn

Dad was the best father in the whole world. A sweet, kind man, slow to anger and having a servant's heart. He adored Mom, and they said they never went anywhere that us children couldn't come along. A true family man. Everyone loved him. He loved to yodel along to Slim Whitman or singing along to Hank Williams Sr. and enjoyed the voice of Mario Lanza, who he reminded us kids that Mario's children didn't even know how to thier their own shoes because Mario did it all for them. Dad loved car races and was in his glory when I was the massage therapist for many NASCAR teams in the early 2000's. He, Mom and the entire family accompanied me criss-crossing the USA. Dad always delighted in coming home to tell friends that he sat next to Richard Petty at church services and hung out with Richard Childress in his motorhome. Dad's favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr., so being friends with Dale's owner was a dream come true, as was seeing the USA from the road. I remember Dad hanging out his window as I drove along the Grand Canyon. Oh! If we could have only done that all decades sooner! My advice is never move out of town from your parents, how I regret realizing how precious they really are. I was Dad's shadow from the time I could walk, he became mine during those final years. He will always be my Valentine.
