Gladys Velma Vail (my mother) was born Sept. 28, 1907 in Mt. Olive, Bienville Parish, Louisiana, to Thomas Jefferson Vail and 1. Roberta Elizabeth Graham. She died Nov. 14, 1979 in Winnsboro, Franklin Parish, Louisiana. On Dec. 25, 1923, she married Charles Edward 'Charlie' Burks, in Quitman, Jackson Parish, Louisiana.
