Lincoln Presidential Campaign Button - 1860
A Lincoln campaign button from his Presidential race in 1860. Lincoln was an early adopter of photography for campaigning. The photo of him is copied from a popular 1858 ambrotype attributed to Roderick M. Cole of Peoria, Ill. Pretty brave of him since he wasn't considered the handsomest of men at the time.
On the other side, was a photo of the Vice Presidential nominee, Hannibal Hamlin. I'd love to have one of these now!
