It seems that Jackson and Lucinda were my g-g-g-g grandparents. I missed a grandfather! Ha! Anyhow, My Grandma was Violet Edna (Thisselle) Schaub. Her Mother was Iva Jane (Vickers)Thisselle and her father (the one I missed) was John Wesley Vickers. And then of course his father was Jackson Vickers. It is so amazing to think of all the relatives that I have. My brother has done most of the work on my grandmothers ancestry and shared it with us. The one person who I have tried to find some info on is Jackson's father, Edward T Vickers. At least that is who his father is listed as on Find a Grave.com. It's nice to hear from you and let me know about your connection to Jackson and Lucinda too!
John Wesley Vickers was my great grandfather. But my great grandmother was his second wife, Laurance Mae. I do have some information on Edward that I got from another cousin. I will double check, but I think there is a tree on Ancestry.com that has Edward and also the Jarvis's on it. If not, I do have information in a folder. I'll get back to you. By the way, I am in Idaho, where are you?
I'll have my brother check Ancestry for Edward. I appreciate you checking your records for him though. There may be something you have that we don't know. I live in the little finger of Michigan. My grandmother, Violet (Thisselle) Schaub was born in 1907 in Kendrick, Idaho! Small world! Also I didn't know John Wesley had a 2nd wife. Thanks!
He married her after his first wife died, although he is buried nest to his first wife. He had eight children with Mae, although there may have been a miscarriage. I can remember JW but just barely. He would set me on his knee and he had a big yellow cat. I was only four when he died.
Eight kids huh? More cousins! How many girls or boys? I did see on Find a Grave that a photo of His headstone shows Elizabeth is there too. That is nice that you have a memory of Him even though it's vague. I have a very vague memory of my great-grandpa Mark Schaub at his birthday party and I was probably about 3 or 4 years old.
