Rev. James C. Bass
Picture is of Rev. Jame C. Bass b. Jan 24, 1832? in Chatham County N.C. He led a notable career as a traveling preacher. He preached until the time of his death.
His first wife was Dorothy L. Morgan m. Chatham County in 1865. He was a civil war veteran serving in the Confederate Forces in S.C. 3rd regiment Company K. He is burried in Monte Vista Cemetery in Johnson City, TN.beside his grandson Carmon White who was killed at a young age by a school bus.He was also the first preacher of the Lone Oak Christian Church in Johnson City, TN.
