Roscoe Workman Nesmith was born on September 8, 1873, in Iowa, Iowa, his father, Joseph, was 50 and his mother, Jenny, was 44. He married Sarah Jane SEATON on October 15, 1899, in Vernon, Kansas. They had five children in 15 years. He died on January 20, 1935, in Wilson, Kansas, at the age of 61, and was buried there.
