Vera Sisson (July 31, 1891-August 6,1953), born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 31, 1891(some sources say Colorado). A former extra, early silent screen actress Vera Sisson skyrocketed to fame opposite one of the era's great matinee idols, J. Warren Kerrigan, with whom she did a series of popular outdoor melodramas in 1915-1916. But fame proved fleeting for this brunette beauty who was demoted to playing supporting roles all too soon.

She began her career in 1908 when she appeared in her first film entitled, "The Helping Hand" when she was 16 years old. Unfortunately, Vera never rose much beyond a character actress. By the time she made "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" in 1926; she had participated in eighteen films including "Toilers of the Sea" 1914; "Iron Woman" 1915; "Avenging Arrow" 1921 (serial); "Veiled Adventure" 1921. Sisson, who may be seen today supporting Rudolph Valentino and Kathleen Kirkham in a restored DVD version of The Married Virgin (1918), retired from films in 1926. On August 6, 1954, at the age of 63, Vera died of a barbiturate overdose. She skyrocketed to stardom while starring with J. Warren Kerrigan in a series of outdoor melodramas from 1915-1916. She retired in 1926. Sisson was married to actor/producer Richard Rosson who committed suicide in 1953. Just a year later, Vera died of an overdose of barbiturates.
