William Ira Hogan, son of William Hogan and Narcissa Goza, was born July 16, 1831 in Washington Parish, LA. About 1849 he married Anne Jane Holton, daughter of Andrew Holton and Leticia Winsett. Anne Jane was born July, 1835. William ira Hogan enlisted in the Confederate army April 25, 1862. He served in Co. H of the 27th. LA. Infantry until after the fall of Vicksburg. At that time he was transferred to the Cavalry where he served until the War ended. The Hogans homestead fell into Tangipahoa Parish, LA when that parish was formed. They moved to Milam, Sabine County, TX in 1868 where Anne Jane died in 1917. William ira died Feb. 5, 1921. They are both buried in the Old Milam Cemetery in Milam, TX. Children of William Ira Hogan and Anne Jane Holton were: Mary Ann, William Andrew, Sophronia Ellen, Salena Isobel, Alonzo, Samuel Warren, and Leticia (Letsy).
