Son of John Taggart (1720-1814) and Barbara McNee Taggart (1718-1790). Husband of Hannah Barnes Taggart (1766-1857). Father of William Barnes Taggart (1783-1861), John Taggart (1785-1787), Sally Taggart (1790-1790), Abner Taggart (1793-?), Sarah Taggart (1797-?), Hannah Taggart (1800-1881), Elizabeth Taggart (1802-1802), Elizabeth Taggart (1804-?), Henry Taggart (1810-?).

Hannah Barnes, born 03/03/1766 in Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; died 10/13/1857 in Sharon, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Daughter of Joseph Barnes (1732-?) and Sarah Melvin Barnes (1743-1814). Mother of children referenced above under William.
