Phyllis King My gr-grandfather was Arthur D. BARROWS b. 1881 AZ. He married Francis Ann SMITH b. 1888 TX. in 1908 TX. Arthur had four other surviving siblings ; Robert Lee, 1876 TX. , Minnie B. 1880 Tx. , Mary Frances 1883 AZ. , and James Edward 1886 . Two other siblings, John W. Jr. 1878 and Ancibell 1885 AZ. , died supposedly of Typhoid fever in Arizona .

According to the " Great Register of Arizona " , the John W. Barrows family settled in Arizona in Sept. 1888 . In Dec. 1888 , John W. Barrows was in an altercation on the ranch where he was a miner in San Pedro , which resulted in him being hit in the side of the head with a wooden club , by Reily Dutton . According to family legend , two years later the mother also died and is buried supposedly in Bisbee , Az.

These children were all sent back to an aged grandmother and Uncle Hiram Cooper in Kimble Co., Tx.According to family , Arthur and his brother Robert Lee , jumped the train . Another family source says they were picked up by wagon .

For years different family members , including myself , have tried to find out the given name of the mother . In sending for death certificates , SS5's , family stories and such , this researcher has only gotten more confused . Two of the five children ( the two oldest boys ) say their mother's name was " Elizabeth Cooper ". Minnie and the two youngest , say her name was " Mary Ancibell Cooper ." The problem is , in the Cooper family there are sisters Elizabeth & Mary A. .

I don't think I have ever researched a family where near every child remembers their mother differently .This family has never been found on any census .

It is also unknown where John W. Barrows came from or who his parents are . This has been a true family mystery .

Minnie Higinbotham My great grandfather was William Barrows. He was born in Alberta Canada birthdate unknown, date of death unknown. He married Minnie Ludell Rickman in Elko, Nevada in ?? 1920, she died January 10, 1970. They had one son named William Andrew Barrows (my grandfather) born on March 16, 1910, died March 26, 1979 who was married to Elizabeth Emily Little, from Morgan, Utah. She died March 20, 1998. I beleive William Sr. had a brother named Jack who lived in Canada (not sure where). Jack's wife's name was Lydia. William and Elizabeth had 5 children, William Charles Barrows, David Dell Barrows,(my dad), Andrew Lincoln Barrows, Hazel Elizabeth Barrows, and Bonnie Barrows. I am looking for any help that anyone could give me on the Barrows side of my family as all the info I have is rather sketchy. No one in my family has an accurate record of any of the elder Barrows of his family some of whom came to America from England, not sure where in England. Any help would be great appreciated. I can be reached with any info at [contact link]
Thanks in advance.
