These are the longest-lived members of the Barrows family on AncientFaces.
According to the " Great Register of Arizona " , the John W. Barrows family settled in Arizona in Sept. 1888 . In Dec. 1888 , John W. Barrows was in an altercation on the ranch where he was a miner in San Pedro , which resulted in him being hit in the side of the head with a wooden club , by Reily Dutton . According to family legend , two years later the mother also died and is buried supposedly in Bisbee , Az.
These children were all sent back to an aged grandmother and Uncle Hiram Cooper in Kimble Co., Tx.According to family , Arthur and his brother Robert Lee , jumped the train . Another family source says they were picked up by wagon .
For years different family members , including myself , have tried to find out the given name of the mother . In sending for death certificates , SS5's , family stories and such , this researcher has only gotten more confused . Two of the five children ( the two oldest boys ) say their mother's name was " Elizabeth Cooper ". Minnie and the two youngest , say her name was " Mary Ancibell Cooper ." The problem is , in the Cooper family there are sisters Elizabeth & Mary A. .
I don't think I have ever researched a family where near every child remembers their mother differently .This family has never been found on any census .
It is also unknown where John W. Barrows came from or who his parents are . This has been a true family mystery .
Thanks in advance.
