The surname "BEHBOUDI" is of a Persian orgin and is a compund word consisting of "BEH" meaning "good" and "BOUD" which is a root of the verb "to be" in Persian. The "I" at the end is an indication of reference which is present in most Persian surnames. Together, Beh + Boud = Behboud simply means "to be in good health". Another direct translation to English is "to recover". For example if an ill person recovers from his/her disease, it is said that he/she has regaind his/her "behboudi".
