Shirley Boone
Singer Pat Boone's wife of 64 years, Shirley Boone, has died at the age of 84. People reports that Boone died "peacefully" on Friday morning (Jan. 11) at the couples' Beverly Hills home. She had been suffering complications from vasculitis, which she had contracted in 2018. Her husband and their four daughters Cherry, Lindy, Debby and Laury were by her bedside singing hymns when she died. Pat Boone tells People he believes he will reunite with his high school sweetheart soon. “We lived a wonderful, blessed life together for 65 years. I’ve parted with my better half for a little while… but we don’t die, we just move on to another place, and today was moving day,” he says. “She’s changed her address is all and moved to a different mansion that I expect to join her in one day.” “I’m very confident of that,” Boone states. “That took the sting out of what happened today because we know we’re gonna be together again and have a whole new beginning.” Charles Eugene "Pat" Boone met Shirley Lee Foley when they were teenagers. Her father was the legendary country singer Red Foley, and her mother was singer Judy Martin. The couple married in November of 1953, when both were just 19 years old. Pat Boone would go on to a singing career that included a stint on Motown's subsidiary country label, Hitsville, from 1974 until the label closed in 1977, releasing singles including "Indiana Girl." His run there included an album titled Texas Woman in 1976. The couple's third daughter, Debby, would go on to a recording career that scored several country hits, including two No. 1 singles: "You Light Up My Life" in 1977 and "Are You on the Road to Lovin' Me Again" in 1980. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother, Shirley Boone was an author, singer, humanitarian and founder of a billion-dollar Christian ministry. Pat Boone attributed their marital longevity to their shared faith. “We didn’t have the perfect marriage, but it helps to marry a magnificent woman,” he reflects. “You make your commitments to God and each other, and in troubled times, you hang on to the commitment to God, and to your kids. You see the problems through and you find you’re stronger because of it.”
Foley, an African-American native of Robertson County, Texas, was shot and killed during an apparent robbery on May 26, 1983 in an alley in South-Central Los Angeles on Normandie Avenue, near Vernon Avenue. The suspect in the crime Grant Christon, 22, was later arrested by Los Angeles police. Foley's slaying was witnessed by Demetria Wallace, 19, a criminal justice major at Los Angeles City College. She cooperated with police and agreed to tell her story in court. However, she was slain by a shotgun blast fired from a passing car as she sat at a bus stop on 48th Street and Vermont Avenue the morning of November 2, 1983 before she could do so. Although charges were dropped against the defendant in a Los Angeles Superior Court preliminary hearing November 7, 1983 in the murder case due to Wallace's death, Foley's killer was later convicted of shooting to death Lamont Norwood and the attempt murder of Norwood's brother Travis at a South L.A. area pizza parlor and use of a .38-caliber handgun during the crime. Foley's murderer served nearly 31 years of a 27-year-to-life sentence in a California state prison. Christon, 54, was released from prison, paroled in October, 2015. Foley received both military honors and tributes from his fellow taxi cab drivers.

Buy cheap and cheerful saucage rolls, put them in a china bowl and then put them in a microwave for 1:30 seconds and smother them in tomato ketchup and then well . . . bon apetite!
My great great grandfather was William John Foley born around 1869.He served in the middlesex regiment during the boer war and world war one.His family came to middlesex during the Boer War and they lived in a town called isleworth near hownslow, whilst he was serving in the army.
Williams daughter maragret foley died in 1902 age 5 of menigeists. She is buried in hownslow cemetry .William also served in world war one from 1915-1918 his family moved back home to cheshire during the ww1 where they lived for the rest of their lives .William recieved 2 medals for ww1 and was discharged in march 1918 due to his health .On Williams army card it says he was also in the army band called the big drum .Sadley William died in 1927 his son Harold was with him when he died ,at least he wasnt alone .I wanted to pay respect for this brave man who survived two wars and put his life at risk for his country .To me he is a hero
and i will continue to pass on his storey through our generations so he will live on and never be forgotten.
My story began four months ago when i began tracing my family tree.my grandad William Harry was the reason i began my research he died when i was seven and i never got the chance to ask him about his past.I have traced back to my grandads father Harold Foley who had eight children he was a branch manager for allied news papers.Harolds father was William John Foley born in 1868
He married elizabeth ellen in 1887 they had eight children sadly four of the childern died due to illness. The children who survived were Mary.Ada.Lily and Harold .
I traced my great great grandads grave a few months ago due to old age the stone had gone and there was just a space of grass next to a grave.I lay a red rose on the grass and shed a tear for the people who were the reason i stand here today .

Last week my grandads sister sent me some photographs about ninty years old of Williams children and his wife Elizabeth and there to my shock was a girl Mary Foley staring at me whose face looked exactly like mine.
Our Foley's come from County Wexford, Ireland. Martin Gerald Foley, my grandfather, was born in the Roman Catholic Parish of Marshallstown, Co. Wexford on May 24, 1884. His parents were Patrick Foley and Anne Byrne Foley. His Godparents were Philip Foley and Mary Bryne.

It seems that Philip Foley and possibly a sister emigrated to America in 1888. Philip Foley turns up again in the 1910 Federal Census in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California. His nephew, Michael Joseph Foley, born Feb 1890, had just arrived from Ireland and was boarding with Philip Foley. My grandfather Martin and Michael Foley were brothers. Michael Joseph Foley married Henrietta Jasperson.

Martin Gerald Foley married Anne (Annie) Cummins in San Francisco CA. Her brother was John J. Cummins who had come over from Oranmore, Galway, Ireland in 1907. Both Annie and Martin (a San Francisco policeman) died in 1934. They left one son, Martin Joseph Foley, my father, who was born in 1925.
