Updated Garmzaban Biographies

Kevin Mehdi Garmzaban was born July 10, 1983 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville MD. I am his mother, Susan (Kingure) Garmzaban (later Songy, later Armour) and his father was Mehdi Garmzaban of Tehran, Iran. Kevin's father was a graduate student that got stuck in the USA during the Iran Hostage Crisis, married me in 1982 and remained here until his death of cancer in 2005. Kevin has a brother Edmund who was born in 1985, and still lives in Sykesville MD where the boys were raised and went to school. Kevin's parents separated/divorced in 1988, and the family of three lived first in Resisterstown and then later moved to Sykesville MD. Kevin was a stand-out wrestler with the Owings Mills Junion League Wrestling Program under Guy Pritzger for many years. In high school he wanted to stay with his teammates at Owings Mills High School, so I allowed him to transfer there to wrestle on that championship team. We hoped that he would be scouted to wrestle in college. Kevin's goal in his junior and senior year of high school was to pin every opponent in the first period. He almost acheived that, but did have a few losing matches in Division and State tournaments at the end of the year. He won Regionals and placed 6th in States. His signature pin was a cow hook with a grapevine to the legs. Kevin also played football for Liberty High for a few years prior to transfering to Owings Mills. He and his good friend Steve Showman played both ends, and I am writing this memorial on March 5, 2022, the day of Steve's funeral memorial. I can't believe our beautiful, talented, smart and loving boys are gone. The Intrepid Brothers - only because they both drove old Dodge Intrepids handed down to them by their parents! Kevin mananged to wreck his within 6 months, so that Intrepid phase did not last long.
