Joseph Konigstein was my mothers mothers father. My name is Burke Leon, my Mother was Frieda Green Leon and her mother was Jennie konigstein Green. I dont know anything about Joseph Konigsteins except he was born about 1856 to 1859. He married Riva Kirsch ( or was it katz as a last name) According to notes my mother (frieda green Leon) left me he was " well educated, studious in history, theology and science but could never quite earn a living. He was introverted . He was high strung and prone to hystrionics.I have no idea of his siblings or his wifes siblings." family rumors were that he ran away from military service in Russia. His wife was the one who held the family together.

Sam and my grandfather ran a seltzer/soda business ( I guess delivering it) for years. my grandfathers 4 surviving children ( Frieda, Florie, Shirley and Pearly) lived there for most of their childhood and young adulthood.
