Charles Liffick My family the Liffick's (spelled Livvix, Lissic, and other ways), have been here in the United States before it was. My Great, Great, Great, Grandfather was born in 1787 his parents were here before the American Revolution. He was a Blacksmith (it runs in our blood). We have been told by our Grandparents the we fought in the French-Indian war and in every war for freedom. 1774-1812- 183? war Mexico, 1860s Civil war (both sides), 1898 war with Spain, 1917 war against Germany, 1941 WW-II global war, 1950 Korean Conflict/Police action, 1962 Vietnam.
Now the Terrel(Dootie/Doddy-ie my Great Grandmother surname) side has been here a little longer, how long? Cherokee, American Indian. We have fought together and against each other.
I have no children so none of mine had to go through this, but! If I could I would serve again today (as a Chaplin)!
